WATSON, James Laverick

James Laverick Watson was the son of Quarry Manager, James Watson, of Marsden, and his wife, Margaret Jane.. James joined the school at the age of 10, and left in a year later 1912 to take up a position with the National Provincial Bank. He joined the Tyneside Scottish battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers and on 22-Nov-1916 became a temporary 2nd Lieutenant. He was killed in action on 29-Apr-1917 after being shot in the head while saving a wounded man. |
