|||
George Frederick Law was the son of plumber, Thomas William Law, and his wife Hannah Mary Law. He attended Westoe Secondary School from 1909 to 1911, and left to be a clerk in a plumber's office (presumably his father's office). He is believed to have joined the 26th (Bankers') Battalion of the City of London Regiment of the Royal Fusiliers, to have been killed in action at the Somme on 18-Sep-1916, and to have been buried at the Guards' Cemetery at Lesboeufs, about 10 miles north-east of Arras in France. |
