HEDWORTH, Wilfred Anthony

Wilfred Anthony Hedworth was the son of Solicitor, William Aaron Hedworth, and his wife, Margaret. By 1911, his father was being listed as "Solicitor of the Supreme Court". In May, 1906, Wilfred sailed to Canada and worked as a farm labourer in Manitoba. Wilfred enlisted with the 79th Cameron Highlanders in Winnipeg, Manitoba, around July 1915, and was killed in action in France on 8-Oct-1916. He is remembered on the Vimy Memorial, south-west of Avion in the Pas de Calais. |
