|||
Stanley Gray was the son of Congregational Minister, Revernd Metcalfe Gray, and his wife, Elizabeth Newman Gray. Stanley initially attended Westoe Secondary School from 3-Jul-1899, but transferred to the High School in July, 1900 (which is why he appears on both Rolls of Honour). He left school in 1903, to work in a chemist shop. Stanley enlisted with the Quayside Battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers, and died from wounds received while in action. |
