Old Boys will remember Speech Day, and in later years, the Opening Evenings. In more recent years, formal prize-givings have moved to sectional Prize Nights.

On Thursday, 10th July, the school held presentations of awards for Years 7 and 8. The presentations were made by Galaxy Radio Presenter, Saffron.

The years 9 and 10 awards were presented on Monday, 14th July, and Kevin Kyle and Nick Pickering made the presentations. Kevin Kyle is from Sunderland Football Club. Nick Pickering is an Old Boy of the school who went on to play for Sunderland and Coventry, and also invited on a couple of occasions to play for England - he is now a local football pundit for the BBC.
