Back in February, I reported here
that a new ICT and Lifelong Learning Centre was to be built at Harton
School.
The Community@Harton: The Learning Zone extension
is nearing completion, and will be opened on Friday, 17th October, by
David Miliband, the School Standards Minister.
The project (funded in part by the Coalfield Regeneration
Trust and the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund) includes a full refurbishment
of the school library (available only to those who attend the school),
and a new extension which will be available to any member of the local
community until 9pm during the week and on Saturday mornings. Several
local groups have already been allocated slots at the centre.
The Centre Manager will be Ms Sonja Mountain, who can be
